Pointy Stick Launches: A Studio Built on the Power of Comedy
This week we officially launch Pointy Stick - a new creative studio built around one simple belief: when it comes to engaging audiences meaningfully, comedy is one of the most powerful tools in culture when it’s treated as a serious craft, not a gimmick.
Founded by Cannes-winning ECD Rob Bovington and BAFTA-winning comedy writer James Menzies, Pointy Stick sits deliberately at the intersection of advertising and entertainment. We make comedy-led brand campaigns. We develop original editorial formats for broadcasters and streaming platforms. And increasingly, we’re focused on the space where those worlds overlap - building brand-funded entertainment that goes beyond traditional advertising models.
We’re proud to be launching with clients including the Royal Ballet and Opera and Beavertown Brewery, and we’ve been quietly developing work with established talent since late summer.
The model is simple but intentional: combine commercial instinct with genuine comedy craft, and create work that people actively choose to engage with.
In a world where audiences control what they watch and attention has to be earned, scale alone isn’t enough. Taste, craft and human connection matter more and comedy is the way forward.
That’s the world Pointy Stick is being built for.
